Romeo Lavia was left in awe of Cole Palmer as his Chelsea teammate stunned Stamford Bridge yet again.

His latest heroics for the Blues has seen him tie level with Manchester City marksman Erling Haaland, with the pair leading the Golden Boot race with 20 goals.

And Lavia, who linked up with the west London outfit last summer along with Palmer, couldn't help but be left mesmerised by the England international's masterclass.

Taking to X after Palmer was on target for the second time, Lavia messaged: "This is getting stupid now! MR COLD PALMER."

Just moments later, Palmer completed a first half hat-trick inside 30 minutes, where he lobbed Three Lions teammate Jordan Pickford from near the halfway line.

Lavia was quick to reply to his own post, as he simply added an ellipsis.

Palmer then slotted a penalty home in the second half, vindicating his decision in refusing Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson to take it.

Chelsea's demolition of their Merseyside opponents has lifted them up to ninth in the table to keep their hopes of European football alive.

And Lavia was quick to laud the dazzling display, as he referenced his injury problems by commenting on his excitement at getting back playing alongside his teammates.

He said: "Aargh can’t wait man. What a team!"

Lavia was expected to be part of a midfield trio consisting of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, but he has been limited to just one outing all season.

The ex-Southampton star was ruled out for the rest of the campaign in March having suffered from ankle and thigh knocks.

His only appearance for Chelsea came in December's win over Crystal Palace, where he suffered a setback on his debut.
