Five Championship players who could well be hunted by Premier League clubs this January.

In-form players will always attract interest in their services, especially from those who have the stature and money to make a deal happen. But what about these five players from the Championship? Could Premier League clubs come-a-knocking in the next transfer window?

Here we take a look at five Championship players that are currently on an excellent wave of form, form that could see interest and indeed offers from the clubs in the Premier League Come January.

1. Kalvin Phillips- Leeds United

, Five Championship players who could well be hunted by Premier League clubs this January.

Kalvin Phillips has quickly established himself as arguably the most valuable player in The Championship right now. His energy and willingness to do the gritty things in front of his back four enable Leeds United to be the attacking force that they currently are. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers registered interest in the summer, but since then Phillips has signed a new deal at Elland Road.

2. Jarrod Bowen- Hull City

, Five Championship players who could well be hunted by Premier League clubs this January.

Bowen has been one of the most in-form in the Championship over the course of the last two seasons and continues to terrorise defences throughout the divisions. Scoring ten goals already, to add to his twenty two last season. The likes of Southampton and Newcastle United have shown interest, can The Tigers hold on to their prize asset?

3. Ollie Watkins- Brentford

, Five Championship players who could well be hunted by Premier League clubs this January.

Ollie Watkins is currently amongst the top scorers in the Championship, having ten league goals to his name already, but this current form along with his pacey and relentless approach has attracted interest from the Premier League in the shape of Sheffield United and Crystal palace. Could the lure of the top table be too much to turn down should an offer come in for the 23-year-old?

4. Aleksander Mitrovic- Fulham

, Five Championship players who could well be hunted by Premier League clubs this January.

Mitrovic is currently top scorer in the Championship on twelve goals, but he has tried and failed in the Premier League before. Could he be tempted away for a third time or is the 25-year-old Serbian happy at Craven Cottage and secretly confident that his side can make it there themselves next season? Goals are a huge assett for any team in the Premier League, so Mitrovic definitely has much to offer. The Serb has been quoted in the past as being very happy at Fulham, so a move may never become a reality, but his form will certainly be catching the eye of those who need goals in the top flight.

5. Daniel Johnson- Preston North End

Preston North End

Johnson has been in blistering form this season as Preston North End sit second in the Championship table after sixteen games. His creativity and eye for goal have been paramount so far, scoring eight goals and creating another four, so it is warranted that top flight eyes may be prowling. However, Johnson has seen interest from only Wigan Athletic in recent times and Preston boss Alex Neil will want it to stay that way as his side look to continue their push for a play-off spot this time around.

There are many in-form players in England’s second tier at the moment, these are my top picks as we enter the winter period… who would you suggest?
