Five potential candidates to replace Michael Jolley at Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town are in the hunt for a new manager after sacking Michael Jolley. Here are five potential candidates for their vacant position-

Anthony Limbrick- Jolley’s assistant has been placed in caretaker charge and is currently the front runner for the full-time job. He will take charge of Grimsby’s crucial FA Cup replay against Newport County on Wednesday. He has previously managed Woking and has also coached youth sides at Southampton and West Ham United.

Robbie Stockdale- He finished his playing days at Blundell Park and started his coaching career there before going onto have a lengthy spell at Sunderland. The former defender is now available after leaving his role as assistant manager at Hibernian earlier this month.

Russ Wilcox- The experienced boss’ name has emerged in the running. He has previously managed Scunthorpe United and York City, as well as coaching roles at Sheffield Wednesday, Burnley and AFC Bournemouth. He is currently the head of recruitment of League One side Doncaster Rovers.

Paul Tisdale- The 46-year-old will be a man in-demand in the lower leagues after his recent sacking by MK Dons. He guided them to promotion from League Two last season having previously spent 12 years at the helm at Exeter City. Could Grimsby tempt him into an immediate return to the dugout?
